If you don’t know where to go to find a good reputable affiliate program, then I would try using an affiliate network like Commission Junction, Linkshare, and Clickbank. I would be cautious with Clickbank, most of their products are garbage, but there are a few good ones.

When selecting products/services to promote, make sure they are reputable and are with your blog’s theme. This means, that if your blog is about dog grooming, then you shouldn’t be promoting real estate items. The products/services you promote should be theme-related, and provide a good user experience.

Amazon

Amazon has the largest and most popular affiliate program online. Amazon sells just about any product there is to sell under the sun. So, it is very easy to find a lot of good products to promote on your blog. Amazon has also a very detailed affiliate area with lots of goodies to help you promote the right product that suits your blogging needs.

Google’s Adsense is another great way to make money with your blog. Google delivers ads to your blog and pays you a share of the cost per click. Google Adsense has several different ad sizes that can easily look natural and boost your revenue. You can also change the colours of the ads, to make them match your blog’s design, making it very easy to blend in and appear natural.

If you do decide to use Google’s Adsense program, make sure you thoroughly read their terms of service. Google is very stringent about how and where its ads are being delivered. So, read, note, and obey their terms of service, or you will be deactivated.

If you have a blog that has a decent following and/or gets a decent amount of traffic, you can always sell ad spots. Depending on your traffic volume, you can sell advertising space for as much as $200 per ad, per month. If you have a lot of volumes, you can charge a lot more.

If you decide to go this way, make sure that you don’t overdo it, and stay on topic with the ads. There are so many logistics I could get involved with, but I won’t. Just make sure not to have too many ads, or disrupt the design and flow of your blog. Some people put so many ads on their blog, it’s not very attractive, and frankly scares visitors away. A lot of ads scream, amateur.
