CID Character Fredericks (Dinesh Phadnis) Dies at The Age of 57
Dinesh Phadnis, a beloved actor known for his role as Fredericks in the popular television show “CID,” has passed away at the age of 57.
The actor, who also appeared in films like “Sarfarosh” and “Mela,” died following health complications related to liver issues. He was admitted to Tunga Hospital in suburban Mumbai a few days prior to his passing.
According to actor-friend Aditya Srivastava, Phadnis was struggling with liver problems that adversely affected his other organs. His condition worsened over two to three days, leading to his untimely demise at around 12:08 am.
The news has left fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry deeply saddened.
Dinesh Phadnis is survived by his wife. His last rites were performed in Borivali, northwest Mumbai, on Tuesday morning.
The actor’s departure marks the end of an era for fans of “CID,” where his character Fredericks was a household name. His contribution to Indian television and cinema will be remembered fondly by his admirers and peers alike.
