Bobby Deol Discusses His Limited Role in Animal Movie
Bollywood actor Bobby Deol recently opened up about his role in the film “Animal,” starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. With all the hype surrounding his character, Deol’s screen time in the movie turned out to be limited, which came as a disappointment to many fans.
In “Animal,” Deol plays the antagonist Abrar Haque, a character he describes as “obsessed” with revenge. He approached the role from a non-judgmental perspective, fully immersing himself in the mindset of his barbaric character.
The film itself is a crime drama set against the backdrop of a troubled father-son relationship, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Ranvijay Singh and Anil Kapoor as his father, Balbir Singh.
Deol acknowledged that his character had a lot of substance and depth, and he wasn’t overly concerned about the length of his role.
“It’s not the length of the role, it is the kind of the character which has so much substance. I wish I had more scenes but when I signed the film, I knew this is what I had,” he said.
With all of his limited presence, Deol expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play such a role and was overwhelmed by the love and appreciation he received from the audience.
Interestingly, Deol believes that his character in “Animal” has the potential for a spin-off, given the strong audience response. “People have loved the character so much that there should be a spin-off.
It is so encouraging that people appreciate your work, and they want to see more of you, playing that character. It feels good,” he added.
“Animal” has been one of the most talked-about films, especially for its intense storyline and the performances of its cast. Deol’s remarks shed light on the challenges and rewards of being part of such a high-profile project, where screen time doesn’t always correlate with the impact of a character.
